Roxanne Nanninga is an ocean industry leader, entrepreneur, and sustainability advisor with experience spanning human rights, carbon reduction, traceability, and nature-based solutions. As founder of Blue Biome Advising, she helps companies and investors develop credible sustainability strategies and identify high-potential opportunities in the blue economy.
Previously, Roxanne served as Chief Sustainability Officer at an early stage company, XpertSea, where she led technology-enabled, climate-smart improvements in shrimp farming, and as Director of Sustainability at Thai Union, where she built the corporation's first global sustainability strategy and programs. Her work has also informed guidance for the International Finance Corporation, UNEP Finance Initiative, WWF, and other blue economy organizations.
In addition to the Sustainable Change Alliance, Roxanne holds advisory roles at UC Santa Barbara’s School for Environmental Entrepreneurship, the California Ocean Summit, Epoch Blue, and the Conservation Alliance for Seafood Solutions. She earned a Master of Environmental Management degree from Duke University.
